Old Saree, New Bandhani Gown

Mustard Bandhani, bottle-green panels and woven borders give an old saree a vivid new silhouette.

The cover image is an editorial visualization regenerated from the original garment photograph. The archive photographs below show the Stitch Bliss source post.

An old saree sets the palette

Mustard Bandhani carries white resist marks and tiny coloured accents, while bottle green anchors the sleeves, bodice inset and lower skirt.

Borders become architecture

The saree’s woven edge is repositioned at the cuffs and hem. A short mustard overlay curves around the green inset and closes with one fabric button.

Nothing useful is treated as leftover

Even the back ties become a design moment: mustard cones end in dark-green pleated ruffles. The transformation keeps the original textile legible while giving it a wholly new life.
