Colour in Motion: The Corset Anarkali

Pink, green, blue and gold meet in a corset-style bodice and a generous Anarkali flare. A closer look at one of our most colourful designs.
Some outfits begin with a single favourite colour. This Anarkali makes room for four. Pink, green, deep blue and gold run through the dress in contrasting panels, bringing a playful energy to a recognisable festive silhouette.
Shared in August 2025, the original captions describe the meeting of corset curves and Anarkali flares. That pairing is the heart of the design: a clearly defined upper half, followed by a skirt that opens out towards the floor.

A silhouette built on contrast
The pink cups and shoulder straps give the bodice a strong outline. Below them, narrow panels of different colours meet at the waist before continuing into the skirt. Small repeating motifs create a connection between colours that might otherwise compete.
There is a pleasing balance between the fitted top and the generous flare. Even on the dress form, the change in proportion is easy to see. The upper half provides definition; the skirt gives the colour room to spread.

Following the colour
Look towards the lower skirt and the arrangement shifts again. Curved, gold-toned edging traces the meeting of the panels, while broader blocks of colour carry the design down to the hem. The eye moves between the fine motifs and the larger shapes.
For someone drawn to expressive festive dressing, this piece offers a useful starting point: choose colours that feel personal, then consider how they can be arranged within a silhouette. A defined waist and a full skirt can bring several strong colours into one coherent design.
